Gauri is a Forbes Asia top 30 under 30 Honouree for Healthcare and Science, 2018, a certified NASDAQ Milestone Maker, a TEDx speaker and has received multiple patents & approvals (India & Global). She studied Biotechnology with a focus on cardiac stem cells from the University of Nottingham.
TRIGGER
After college, I worked with McKinsey & Co. under their Pharmaceutical & Medical Products vertical and this is where I learned about the problem of medicine non-adherence and that I would say was the first trigger towards working in the space to start my research and eventually set up Caredose.
INITIAL YEARS
The initial years were about a lot of research and interaction with patients, doctors, researchers, pharmacists. Conducted structured research with a sample size of 50 patients over a span of 8 months. I also ran a brick and mortar pharmacy for 2 years to understand and get familiar with the pharmacy prescription retail space.
During the initial phase, I also on-boarded my co-founders Kinshuk Kocher who is also the COO and Shrivatsa Somany who is the CTO.
CHALLENGES
- Finding the right people for building tech and keep the innovation going.
- Convincing organisations to make sense of automation
ROAD AHEAD
- The road ahead is very clearly technology forward. We are looking at creating differentiated technology, in-house and as well in collaboration with some of the leading players in the global markets.
- Areas of focus will be with more hospitals, public health, pharmacies, and health insurance.
- Penetrate select cities in India and enter the international markets with a focus on both Public & Private Health

For us Compliance and Licenses are what keeps us up at night, this one is a constant actually, mostly because of the category we work in.
